La Caleta grows in harmony with nature

You can’t blame people for wanting to live in La Caleta, the traditional Tenerife coastal village has spawned some of the most tasteful developments on the island but the local Costa Adeje council are keen to ensure that it doesn’t put a strain on the charming environment.

La Caleta

The first stone was laid this week for a new sea water desalination plant that will not only ensure water supplies for the immediate area, but will supply 40% of all water required in the municipality of Adeje. The 19 million euro project will be completed in 18 months and can produce up to 15,000 cubic tons of drinkable water every day.

The new plant will fit in well with the protected area of natural and scientific interest to the west of La Caleta and the rolling greens of Golf Costa Adeje, just above the village. Quite a setting for a home buyer, just pop in to Magnolia Golf Resort a residential complex of 120 high class apartments with 2 and 3 bedrooms. The large garden area shares a spa, swimming pool, gym and sauna, and the hillside location ensures great views out across the Atlantic to the island of La Gomera. La Caleta is certainly planning ahead.
