La Caleta, a fit and healthy place to live

Tenerife is always changing and evolving and adding great attractions to those natural ones like the sea, mountains and glorious villages. La Caleta in the south west corner, is a very popular place because of its mix of traditional fishing village and modern tourism developments, now it is to gain one of the most modern sports training facilities in Europe.

T3 sports centre

Tenerife Top Training, or T3 for short, is a 56,000 square metre centre of sporting excellence just above the village of La Caleta. Opening in late August, it will welcome not only local sports enthusiasts, but also leading sports teams and clubs that want to combine a holiday with intensive training.

The main features are 3 pools, one Olympic size at 50 metres long, another half the size, both heated to 27 degrees, and an indoor therapy pool with state of the art bio mechanics to produce a 3D image of a swimmer against a 2.5 metre per second water flow. This can be studied on a giant screen to detect weaknesses and improve technique for hi level performers, and to treat those with injuries or disabilities.

Two full size outdoor floodlit football pitches will be very welcome, one with real grass and one with a synthetic surface. Add to that indoor physio and training rooms and outdoor tennis and padel courts, and you can see that this will be a major leisure addition, just next to Golf Costa Adeje.

Actual Properties has 19 semi detached villas in the area, Caleta Golf Resort has 2 and 3 bedroom with their own garage and even a wine cellar. Set on the hill above La Caleta, they offer a stunning view, and easy access to the areas leisure facilities and the charms of the fishing village below. Despite the feeling of detachment and tranquillity, the villas are within 5 minutes of the vibrant resorts of los Cristianos and Las Americas, and just 15 minutes from the south airport.
