Tenerife has always been a musical island, attracting the cream of salsa and latino music, but the growing cosmopolitan make up of the population is now making it a desired venue for big international artists. Rod Stewart is the latest big name to be announced for a future concert, Sun Live Festival Canarias have given Saturday May 16 2009 as the date of the Scottish rockers big gig at Gold Costa Adeje.
This is the same company and venue that staged an Elton John concert on January 24 this year and had also pencilled in a Paul McCartney gig for this December 6. Alas it was not possible to match the former Beatle with the proposed date but SLFC have stated their intention to try for another fate, possibly as early as January 2009. This fits in with their Rod Stewart announcement, when they temptingly added that they have plans to bring 3 further international artists to Tenerife in 2009.
Golf Costa Adeje is a perfect setting as the golf course bowl can hold around 24,000 people and affords amazing views out to the Atlantic.
